Deborah Kressebuch lebt im Sommer auf der Schafalp. Ein Leben in wilder Natur mit ihren treuen Gefährten, dem Skizzenbuch, Stifte, Tusche, Aquarelle, Papier und Kamera. Sie sammelt farbige Steine und zermahlt sie zu Pigment. Sie sucht hauchdünne Schieferplatten, auf welchen sie den Moment am Berg mit den Farben vom Berg festhält: Auf gefilzter Wolle ihrer Schafe gebettet liegt Stein auf Stein.
Die geschwungenen Hörner und die weisse, lang gelockte Wolle sind wiederum ihre liebsten Elemente auf Papier. Sie erzählen von der wilden und rauen, zugleich faszinierenden und ewigen Welt, in der die Künstlerin den Sommer mit ihrer Herde im hochalpinen Gebirge verbringt.

On the 2nd of September I painted this wave and was deeply concerned about the hurricane in the Bahamas. A few months ago I was allowed to spend a wonderful time in this paradise. It is hard for me to imagine how this area is now being devastated, the reports are frightening and I fear for the safety of all the wonderful people I have met on this inspiring and beautiful journey.
So I decided to donate this painting to the Bahamas. The highest bidder receives this painting, the amount is transferred to the rebuilding and support of the bahamians.

Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas
On September 2, 2019, the hurricane largely destroyed the northern islands in the Bahamas. The Bahamas consist of over 700 islands, of which Grand Bahama, Abacos, Andros and Nassau are the largest. Dorian has totally destroyed Abacos, villages, houses and nature have been cleared away by a massive tidal wave and winds of up to 300km/h. The islands have been destroyed by the hurricane. More than 2500 people are missing, the exact number is unknown. Most of the survivors are trying to get to the main island of Nassau and set up new facilities there. Grand Bahama was also badly damaged, partly massively destroyed.
My relation to the Bahamas
In winter 2019 I had the chance to live three months in the Bahamas on a catamaran and to travel with guests. There were many weeks in which we sailed through the Bahamas and discovered the beautiful island area. Lonely islands, a wonderfully animated nature and animal diversity, the most beautiful turquoise colors imaginable, crystal clear water and meeting people whose multicultural openness, hospitality and friendliness surpasses all cultures I have ever encountered. Bahamians help each other, without friendship and mutual support survival in this area is not possible. Especially the tragic effects of Dorian show how the Bahamians stick together and support each other - in Nassau a new dense population is forming, tolerance and multicultural cohesion are the basis for this.
The idea that some of the areas and villages visited had been largely destroyed shocked me and I knew where I could help, so I will do my best.
The picture Dorian is my personal occasion to express my gratitude to the Bahamians for the precious experience in their homeland.

Dorian, The Wave for The Bahamas

The painting will be shown in the exhibition 'Nostalgia della profondità azzurra' at The Brian&Barry Building from 3 to 30 November 2019 in Milan, Italy. The auction will continue until the end of the exhibition and will determine the current price of the painting.
The motif of the wave was created during a trip to Cape Town, the colours were influenced by the trip to the Bahamas. Waters power, wave and wind - the painting is an expression of my experiences and an examination of the expressiveness of nature in natural forces with its fascinating wildness, beauty and power. They are captured moments, which are immediately withdrawn from reality and are difficult or even impossible to access for us humans.
The Dorian Wave is both a threatening force of nature and Bahamian's impressive turquoise beauty, combining the fascination experienced with the tragedy of Dorian's effects.

Inspirationen aus der Zeit als Älplerin auf der Ziegenalp Puzzetta
Zwischen Leidenschaft und Landwirtschaft, am körperlichen Limit und auf der Gratwanderung zwischen Wille und Vernunft öffnet sich eine gigantische Welt, weit ab von Wohlstand und medialer Flut. Es ist die Welt der fragilen Ewigkeit*.
Als spontane Aushilfe auf der Alp Puzzetta ist Deborah im Sommer 2020 von einem Tag auf den anderen aus dem Alltag raus und in die Welt der Ziegen, deren Käse und in die schroffe, dem Wind und Wetter ausgesetzte Gebirgslandschaft eingetaucht. Inspiriert von den Erlebnissen entstanden nach und nach die Werke der Ausstellung „Fragmente und Spuren am Wegrand“.

Bilder verschneiter Berggipfel, verweht im Wind und Schneegestöber, begegnen Samenkapseln im Winterlicht. Ihr mattes Gold, eingetaucht in die blaue Weite der Berge, zeigt ihre einsame Schönheit und erzählt von ihrer Vergangenheit. Die kristallklare Stimme von Claudia Greber umspielt die Welt lebendig und feinfühlig, all die Bergtäler, Bäche und Wiesen, die Städte, ihre lebendingen Strassen, den Nachthimmel und die Weite der Wüsten. Kein Gesang könnte die blauen Bergperlen schöner und leuchtender beleben, zwischen uralten Liedern und Eigenkompositionen in akustischen, warmen Jazzklängen.
Claudia Greber hat an der Hochschule Luzern Jazzgesang und Schulmusik studiert, arbeitet seit da als Lehrerin und Sängerin in Ensembles, als Harmonie Greber, in verschiedensten Chören und als Background-Sängerin u.a. mit Ndiigo, Roamer Extended, Lea Lu.

Gewähre einen Blick in die Tiefe jener Vergänglichkeit, der wir nicht entkommen können. Das Amanjiwo Surf House in Scarborough (Kapstadt) zeigt dauerhaft die Bilder aus dem Kunstaufenthalt von 2018. Die Bilder wurden von der starken Gegenwart der Naturkräfte Südafrikas geprägt. Sie sind in einer Mischtechnik aus lokalen, selbst hergestellten Pigmenten, Fotografie und Acryl hergestellt.
The Amanjiwo Surf House in Scarborough, Cape Town, permanently shows the pictures from the art stay of 2018. The pictures were influenced by the strong presence of the natural forces of South Africa. They are made in a mixed technique of local, self-made pigments, photography and acrylic.

Die Bilder Wild Coast haben im letzten Februar in Kapstadt beim Kunstauftrag für das Guesthouse Amanjiwo ihren Anfang genommen. Eine Bilderserie, in der die wilden, kontrastreichen Naturgewalten Kapstadts zusammentreffen mit meinem Malstil und meinen von Reisen und Kiten geprägten Projekten.
The painting series Wild Coast started in Cape Town last February on the art stay for the Guesthouse Amanjiwo. A series of pictures in which the wild, contrasting forces of nature in Cape Town come together with my painting style and my projects that are shaped by travel and kiting.

Die Bergbilder Blue sind über mehrere Jahre während unzähligen Tagen und Wochen bei sportlichen Aktivitäten in den Bergen geboren. Zurück sind aus den Fotografien Malereien entstanden, welche sich die Freiheit nehmen, in Wirklichkeit zu existieren oder nicht - sie sind eine Erscheinung von Momenten, an den Grenzen des für Menschen begehbaren Lebensraum, in den Kräften der natürlichen Elementen.
Das Ospizio stellt die Bilder unter dem Titel BLAU IM BLAU aus, Wo die blauen Farbklänge in ihrer ursprünglichen Umgebung zwischen Leinwand und Alpenschauspiel ins Wechselspiel treten.
The blue mountain pictures were born over several years during countless days and weeks on sports activities in the mountains. On the other hand, the photographs have created paintings that take the liberty of actually existing or not - they are an appearance of moments, on the borders of the human habitat, in the forces of natural elements. The Ospizio presents the pictures under the title BLUE IN BLUE, where the blue color are set in their original environment between canvas and alpine spectacle.

Die Galerie zur Zinne stellt die blauen Bergbilder als Serie aus. Ein Wiederbeleben und Aufgreifen von Bildern, die während einer längeren Zeit bei sporttlichen Aktiviäten in den Bergen als Fotografien den Weg ins Atelier gefunden haben. Dort wurden sie in Malereien verwandelt, welche ein Spiegel der Bergwelten und zugleich eine erfundene Landschaft sind. Sie lassen den Menschen nur als bewunderndes Wesen am Anblick teilhaben, entziehen sich jedoch in ihrer wilden Kraft der Möglichkeit, jene Orte zu bezwingen oder besitzen...
The Galerie zur Zinne displays the blue mountain images as a series. Resurrecting and picking up images that have found their way into the studio as photographs over an extended period of sporting activity in the mountains. There they were transformed into paintings, which are a mirror of the mountain worlds and at the same time an invented landscape. They only allow people to share in the sight as an admiring creature, but in their wild power they escape the possibility of conquering or possessing those places ...
