During 2 summers, the artist Deborah Kressebuch collected colored stones while shepherding the black-nose sheep herd on the Gornergrat. From this she made her own color pigments and used them to paint on stone slabs that she had also found on the mountain. She painted the panorama, stone on stone and like a mirror of nature itself, made her picture out of her own colors on site.
The series of stone images, bedded on self-made wool felt and carefully stored in wooden boxes, was exhibited in the Sala Segantini in the summer of 2022.
