LA ONDA

In two stages, Deborah Kressebuch painted the almost 100m2 murals in the Forum Sumiswald for the La Onda restaurant. As the title of the restaurant suggests, it was about the theme of waves, which the artist has specialized in since her trip to Cape Town in various works from Wild Coast, the Milan exhibition and the mural for the Wadin. Different concrete walls should be painted with lively, breaking waves. A wall 24m long was 5m high and had to be painted from the scaffolding, other walls were in corridors or outside.

The murals transformed the rather cold and uncomfortable place into a fascinating and exotic oasis, in combination with the international menu and the exotic decoration, the guests could enjoy the wild and distant world of the oceans here in the middle of the Swiss backlands - a significant need after the lockdown months.
